MathNivo Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

MathNivo is an Android math-learning app offering guided, skill-based practice for US Grades 6–8 and Algebra 1. Geometry is under construction. This policy explains how information is handled when you use MathNivo.

2. Information handled by the App

MathNivo does not currently require an account. It does not ask for account profile, subscription, or payment information. The App handles learning activity needed to provide its features, such as selected skills, practice attempts, answers or expressions you submit, completion status, and the context needed to request learning and problem services.

When the App communicates with MathNivo services, servers and network infrastructure may automatically process technical request information such as an IP address, request time, requested endpoint, response status, and security or diagnostic logs. We do not describe this operational processing as “no data collection.”

3. Local learning progress

Learning progress is stored locally on your device in an SQLite database. This supports features such as completed-skill progress and continuing recent learning. The current version does not provide account-based or cloud learning-progress synchronization. Local data generally remains until you clear the App’s data or uninstall it, subject to Android and device backup or restore behavior.

4. Server communications

The App connects to the MathNivo backend to obtain learning and problem-related services. Depending on the feature, a request may contain a selected course or skill, problem context, an answer or expression, and other information needed to return the requested educational response. Internet transmission and normal server processing are therefore required for online features.

5. AI-assisted functionality

Some educational content or explanations may be generated or assisted by artificial intelligence. Relevant request content may be processed by the MathNivo backend and an AI service provider to produce a response. Provider credentials are kept on the server and are not included in the Android client. AI-assisted content can be incomplete or incorrect and should be reviewed as educational guidance.

6. Analytics and advertising

The current App has no advertising, advertising ID integration, Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, behavioral-tracking SDK, or crash-analytics SDK. Operational server and security logs may still be produced as described above; those logs are not presented as behavioral analytics.

7. Children and student use

MathNivo is designed for student learning. A parent or guardian should supervise use when appropriate for the student’s age and circumstances. Users should not enter names, contact details, school records, or other personal or sensitive information into answers or AI-assisted features. This policy does not claim a regulatory certification.

8. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect MathNivo services and information handled by them. No device, network transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Data retention

Device learning progress is retained locally as described in Section 3. Server request, diagnostic, and security information may be retained for periods reasonably necessary to operate, troubleshoot, secure, and maintain the service or meet applicable legal obligations. Retention may vary by the type of record and service provider.

10. Third-party services

MathNivo relies on service providers for functions such as hosting, network delivery, and AI-assisted responses. Those providers may process limited information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms and privacy policies. Android, an app distributor, and your network provider may also process information independently from MathNivo.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App, its services, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted here with an updated date.
